Gas system tests G607

G 607 – Gas testing for caravans and motorhomes: Important information for vehicle owners

Since October 1, 2004, a uniform legal regulation for the operation of gas systems in caravans, motorhomes and leisure vehicles has been in force in Europe. These regulations are important for the safety and legal operation of your vehicles.

The legal basis for gas testing of liquid gas systems is based on the Technical Rules for Liquid Gas (TRF), the EC Directives 2001/56EG and 2004/78EG and the DVGW Code of Practice G 607/EN 1949, known as G 607.

According to this regulation, every gas system in a vehicle must be checked by an expert every two years. This regular gas check is crucial to ensure the safety of your family and fellow travelers. It protects against potential dangers and ensures that your gas system is always in perfect working order.

Make sure you have your gas test carried out in good time! If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact us. Ensure safety and peace of mind on your travels!

The test logbook for your LPG system: important information for safe travel

The safety of your LPG system has top priority! The system should always be checked by a specialist before it is put into operation for the first time and after every repair or replacement of an appliance. During the initial inspection, you will receive an inspection logbook, which you should always keep in your vehicle.

In addition, a regular inspection is required every two years. Every inspection carried out is documented in the inspection logbook. If everything is in order, an inspection sticker is attached to the outside of the vehicle. Please note that many campsites may only be entered with a valid gas system inspection. These tests are based on the “Technical Rules for LPG” (TRF) as well as EC Directives 2001/56EG and 2004/78EG and DVGW Code of Practice G 607.

Save time and effort!

When you bring your vehicle to the main inspection (HU), remember to bring the inspection book for the LPG system with you. If the vehicle inspector does not have a valid inspection certificate for the gas system, the inspection engineer cannot issue an HU sticker for a motorhome. In the case of caravans, a note will be made in the test report for your safety, but the caravan will receive an HU sticker as the driver is not endangered by a faulty gas system.

Don’t forget to have your LPG system tested at your HU appointment at the TÜV SÜD test center. That way you are on the safe side and can travel without any worries!
