Appraisals for classic and vintage cars
When a classic car changes hands, haggling over the price is part of the process. So it’s good to have a neutral basis for negotiation. This is provided by the TÜV SÜD valuation report.
TÜV SÜD’s experts examine the overall condition, technical fitness, appearance and equipment of the vehicle – and, depending on the quality, determine the market value according to regional conditions. As a customer, you receive an individualized report that says much more than a blanket price list. And is of course much more recognized than your own ideas.
WHY ARE TECHNICAL DATA REQUIRED?
When assessing an imported vehicle, the officially recognized TÜV SÜD expert must also determine the technical data for the preparation of the registration certificates. This includes, among other things, the emissions classification, which is required for registration in Germany and is also decisive for the amount of the annual vehicle tax assessment. As a rule, however, TÜV SÜD Service Centers do not have this information from a reliable source for US vehicles and classic cars, or only incompletely.

Our data sheet center in Heilbronn can help: The technical data for almost all vehicles is collected and archived here. If necessary, these are also determined and then made available based on the chassis number. This considerably simplifies the assessment in accordance with Section 21 (full expert opinion) and thus also helps to reduce costs.
